“I wanted to drop a quick note to say thank you! My family has been so grateful for your participation in Maya’s upbringing and well-being.
As parents it is difficult to find a person (or team of people) to watch our children. Effectively, we want to find someone with similar like-mindedness, ethics, and standards to help raise our children while we’re at work. Moreover, we also seek someone with compassion, kindness, and love for them. Albeit to say, this is no easy task! Trust is earned and so we all blindly try to find the right fit but ultimately take a leap of faith and hope that it all works out for the best.
To start, Hydro Bright Lights was no different. Kiran and I took a leap of faith but we were pleasantly overjoyed by the level of service, forward-thinking, and action-taking by you and your team in the infant room. We love the routine, emphasis on cleanliness, and care given towards the children. On numerous occasions, we would arrive to pick up Maya and she would snuggle into Megan’s arms – a true testament of her comfort and trust in Megan! We loved coming into the class and seeing Maya giggle and clap her hands from pure joy in whatever it is that she was doing. Maya genuinely enjoys her time at Hydro Bright Lights which means everything to us. Hydro Bright Lights has earned our trust!!
In relation to Maya’s development, we can’t thank Hydro Bright Lights enough for taking the initiative to involve the resource teacher and occupational therapist to assist in her mobility; such as learning to crawl, turn over, and walk. In personal conversations between Kiran and I, we had expressed our own concerns; however if it wasn’t for the experience of you, Karen, plus Megan, Janina, and the team, we wouldn’t have accessed the resources that we needed. The team approach when we were all focused on the same goals and using the same tools provided by the resource teacher and OT, was fundamentally imperative to give Maya the boost she needed. Now, she’s motoring around and thriving! If it wasn’t for Hydro Bright Lights, we may not have gotten the tools we needed to help our child. We will be forever grateful for this!

“Hydro Bright Lights isn’t so much a day care, as it is a family care centre. The focus on child, mother and father was what made us fall in love. From the moment our daughter stepped foot inside, there was a warm and loving embrace that became the backdrop of her entire experience. Together, the incredible team in the infant care room guided our daughter toward many firsts, including her first words and first steps. Along the way she learned better communication techniques (sign language, forming words, saying “mine”), better social skills (sharing toys, gentle play, giving hugs), and plenty of life skills (following instructions, washing up, handling a spoon). But, as parents, we found ourselves learning too. The team was instructive on how to handle bad behaviour, communication, development and even proper footwear! They were patient, kind, and always full of practical advice. After only two months, our daughter flourished. “I never write testimonies, but as my youngest child is moving on from Hydro Bright Lights (HBLCC), I feel compelled to share my experiences at this daycare. HBLCC is not just a daycare – they set themselves apart by the caring, nurturing teachers who have such incredible love for each and every child. I visited every daycare in Etobicoke and HBLCC just stood out. My first child started at 5.5 months – it was a very stressful time for me. But the teachers quickly won me over. They are so experienced (I have learned so much from them!) and the children have learned so much from their play based learning. The environment is so warm and it is so nice to arrive at the end of the day and see my child so happy and not want to leave! We are so grateful to have come across this wonderful daycare – the only downside is that they don’t offer classes for kids until university! Hydro Bright Lights Childcare Centre (HBLCC) invited current and alumni families and friends to join them and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the centre. The attendees gathered in the courtyard where the kids had a wide array of activities to choose from, including a bouncy castle and slides. The Marine Police Unit gave the kids the opportunity to check out some of their cool gadgets and equipment. One of the highlights of the day was the unveiling of the “Energy Bicycle” from Kinectrics (the creation of a parent). This innovative energy-generating bicycle was a big hit with the kids who couldn’t wait to give it a try. Mary Kennedy from MP James Maloney’s office and Councillor Justin Di Ciano dropped by the event and presented HBLCC with a certificate in honour of their milestone.

I was so happy to meet you and your staff and tour your centre. I love that you come from the ‘good days’ and have that deep rooted sense of pride in your program, facility and staff. Your passion really comes through as you talk about the children and what you do for them. I wanted to drop this short note to say all of that to you and to also thank you for talking with me at such length. You really helped bring my stress level down and I appreciate you taking time to help us navigate this wacky world of parenting! It shall become my crusade to help more parents avoid what we are going through right now. I kick myself every day for not coming around when I got pregnant.
