3.5 years – 6 years | 8 – 10 Children | 1 Educator | Full Time (5 days a week)
Kindergarten is preparation for more formal education. Children continue their social skills through the Second Step Curriculum. Math and literacy activities challenge abilities through hands-on experiences and symbolic representations. Phonemic awareness of sounds linked with written words are taught in a meaningful way. Children express themselves through art, storytelling, pretend play, planning & building, patterning and classifying, developing hypothesis and experimenting to formulate theories.
In our Kindergarten room, we focus on:
- Developing identity and how one affects the world
- Independence and supporting peers
- Creative thought processes to explore problem-solving
Kindergarten parents will receive annual Progress Reports, Monthly Bulletins regarding specific activities, literacy activities to do together at home, and informal communications regarding child development on a regular basis.
